What is GoWorld Youth · 围棋世界?

GoWorld Youth is a youth-led community initiative that uses the ancient strategy game of Go to help younger students practice focus, patience, and good sportsmanship, while offering high-school volunteers a meaningful way to serve and lead.

Our mission

To make Go (Weiqi) accessible to children as a free public good, and to create a safe space where they can think deeply, play fairly, and learn to respect both victory and defeat.

We believe every child should have the chance to experience strategic thinking and quiet concentration in a screen-free, supportive environment.

How it works

  • Partner with libraries and community centers
  • Offer 6–8 week beginner Go classes for kids
  • Provide all boards, stones, and teaching materials

  • Ages approximately 6–14
  • Beginner-friendly, no prior experience required
  • Small group format with guided practice

Youth Volunteer & Leadership

High school students help plan lessons, assist younger players, and learn how to run community programs responsibly and safely.

  • Lesson planning and teaching support
  • Event coordination and communication
  • Volunteer hours tracking and reflection

Development timeline

GoWorld Youth is intentionally starting small, documenting each step carefully as an example of how AI-era youth projects can grow transparently over time.
